The Oxbow Eco-Center
The Oxbow Eco-Center in Port St. Lucie received almost 90 feet of custom built wood fence as a donation from A Great Fence. The donation also included a 10 foot double-drive gate. A Great Fence worked with local Boy Scouts on the donation and installation at Oxbow.
Protecting 225 acres of natural habitats along the North Fork of the St. Lucie River amid a squeeze of subdivisions in Port St. Lucie, Oxbow Eco-Center provides room to ramble. Centered on a well-presented Exhibit Hall and Discovery Center that tells the story of the habitats and their inhabitants, the trail system includes a 3.8-mile loop with several shorter options. A spur trail shows off scenic views of the river from a bluff.

About the Oxbow Eco-Center
The Oxbow Eco-Center is an environmental learning center located on a 225-acre preserve on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. Oxbow Eco-Center offers 3 ½ miles of hiking trails and is where young and old alike can discover the mysterious and hidden life of the forest and river.
The preserve offers a rare glimpse of “the real Florida” – a place where the past and the present come alive in the canopy of the floodplain forest, the scrub and pine flatwoods and in the primordial swamps and wetlands.
